Masters Season Details and Registration Winter 2025

Our training platform is designed to accommodate both new participants who are interested in starting to learn to row in 2025 as well as novice rowers who may have just begun their journey last summer and are looking to improve their rowing skills and fitness.  For experienced or competitive rowers our program will support disciplined sport-relevant training.

Get in shape, stay in shape, or get in better shape.  We have the structure to help our adult participants accomplish whatever their personal goals may be through our training program. Rowing is about more than the meters you put in on the water with an oar or sculls in your hand(s). It is also about the steps you take off the water, both physically and mentally to improve yourself as an athlete.  It is about the discipline to pursue goals and challenges.

During the Winter Training season at Maine Coast Rowing for our masters’ athletes in particular, in addition to addressing general personal strength and fitness concepts, we will focus on building rowing strength and aerobic development, through weight training, bodywork, and ergometer training to build aerobic resilience, explosive power, and mental fortitude.  We are excited to continue building our momentum and community from the Maine Coast Summer and Fall 2024 seasons into the winter as we look ahead to the upcoming 2025 rowing year.  Particularly, for those interested in joining our Competitive Masters Team next Summer and Fall season, our training will help those rowers begin to prepare for the upcoming year on the water and understand rowing-specific metrics training structures.

As a benefit of our partnership with the Brunswick Parks and Recreation Fitness Center, all participants at any schedule level ( full session/ weekly / or daily program options ) will benefit from full member access to the newly unveiled Cardio Center and Weightroom for the duration of the Winter Training period at any time outside of scheduled group training periods during normal facility operating hours.  This will allow those engaged in irregular schedules to be able to access the facility on the weekends or other hours/days or gain opportunities for additional self-actuated workouts.  The group's discounted membership rate through this partnership and schedule allows Maine Coast Rowing to keep the coached training program costs as reasonable as possible while providing maximum accessibility and flexibility.

Additional benefits of signing up for any schedule level include access to Maine Coast ergometers 7 days a week during operational hours, as well as focused rowing-centric training modalities and strategies during the coached practice sessions.  Our full-session athletes will receive personal training plans tailored to their goals with specific strength and fitness markers in addition to the daily training support and supervision of guided strength training and exercise form development.  On the ergometer, we will work on maintaining and improving form fundamentals with a disciplined rowing base technique that is critical to maintaining good form in the boat.
