      3.  Schedule

    • Fall   August 30th to November 10th
    • Daily:  Tuesday thru Friday 3:30pm to 6:00pm; Saturday 8:00am to 11:00am
    • Races: Start Sept 16th end Oct 29th

4.  NOTABLES   For Planning

    • Winter Training Trip – Florida Feb 17th  – 25th , 2024
      • Tampa/Sarasota – $900 all inclusive, except travel
      • Minimum 10 to run trip
      • Intention to attend: Nov 1st
      • Group Flight – booking Nov 2nd ; Fees due Nov 3rd
      • Deposit ($300) due Nov 15th
      • Balance ($600) due Feb 1st
      • 2 – 3 chaperones –
      • -costs covered for parent and rower except travel
    • Canadian Henley – August 6th  to 11th , 2024
      • St. Catherines, Ontario (Buffalo)
      • Passports – 6 months timeline

6.  Communication/ Attendance = SUCCESS FOR ALL

    • Racing is a privilege!
    • Attendance is expected not requested
    • Covid/ health issues
    • Excused absences / leave of absence
    • 3 unexcused = request for conference
    • Homework is not an excused absence, plan your time
    • Detention is not an excused absence

7.  Behavior Expectations/ Discipline/ Code of Conduct:

    • Positive, Caring, Supportive, Disciplined, Structured, Life skills environment
    • Bullying in any form is not tolerated!
    • Setting the Standard
    • Champions act like champions, train like champions
    • Building athletes and oarsmen/oarswomen one step at a time
    • Shirts on/shirts off concepts
      • Water vs dock/land
    • Travel = representing program
    • Boatyard / Rec Center as a safe space
    • Drama, Distraction, and Disruption = the 3 team and performance killers
    • Why the concept of a code of conduct
    • Honor, integrity, accountability, discipline, and representing team and club in community
    • Online conduct
    • Multistep disciplinary process:
      • Verbal

9.  Requirements for Athletes/ Families:

  • Appropriate training/ athletic wear = layers
  • We row in the rain
  • Everday KIT
    • Running shoes
    • Water/ dock shoes
    • Yoga mat
    • Water bottle
    • Journal – hardbound @ 6” x 9” size, in freezer bag, 2 pencils
  • Uniforms: basic vs extras – starter race jersey $30 LS/SS
  • Polo/ vest/ fancy stuff
  • Travel costs
  • Race fees – covered in fees!

Exception: Head of Charles/ Nationals/ Henley/ Big events
