Juniors Season Details and Registration Fall 2023
Maine Coast Rowing Association offers year-round rowing training and racing opportunities to students in the 7th – 12th grade. We are excited to begin the Fall 2023 season to continue building our momentum and community from the Maine Coast 2023 season into Fall 2023 as we look ahead to the upcoming year and defend our 2023 Maine State Team Championship title. Please join us for Fall 2023. Both new and experienced rowers are welcome.
During the first part of our season at Maine Coast, we will focus on improving and teaching technique as we begin base-level distance training to prepare for the Fall 3-mile “Head Races”. From there as we will continue to build our rowers' speed and strength on the water, with supplemental ergometer training, bodywork, and running to build aerobic resilience, explosive power, and mental fortitude. Utilizing concepts of mobility and mindfulness, we want to focus on preparing for the competitive racing part of the fall season and beyond while creating a strong 5k background for all rowers, especially those on the collegiate track with plans to row at the college or university level.
Additionally, our athletes will receive personal training plans tailored to their goals with specific strength and fitness markers in addition to the daily training support and supervision of guided exercise form development. On the ergometer, we will work on maintaining and improving form fundamentals with a disciplined rowing base technique that is critical to maintaining good form in the boat.
