Juniors Spring Season
During the early part of the spring season, athletes spend four to five weeks in ergometer and strength-based training to build speed, strength, and endurance. Rowers coming from our Winter Indoor program enter with a strong foundation, and by the end of this phase, all athletes will have developed the power and resilience needed for racing season, along with the opportunity to improve their 2k times for collegiate recruiting.
Once the docks are in, training transitions to the New Meadows River for on-water practices. Our coaching staff works closely with novice rowers to build technical proficiency in preparation for spring regattas, while varsity athletes focus on competitive performance leading up to New England Regionals and potential qualification for National Championships. The season concludes with the Maine State Championships, where Maine Coast is proud to be a two-time winner of the team trophy.
Both new and experienced rowers in grades 8–12 are welcome to join!
