The Regatta
The Cow Island Classic is a annual regatta hosted by Maine Coast Rowing Association on the scenic Androscoggin River in Brunswick, Maine. This fall event draws athletes from across the Northeast to compete in a variety of sculling and sweep events. Each year, the regatta welcomes junior, masters, and collegiate programs to Brunswick to take on a challenging 4,600-meter course around Cow Island.
The Cow Island Classic is a celebration of community and a great way to kick off your fall racing season.
Cow Island
Named for the cows which used to graze on the island, Cow Island is a 58-acre protected area owned by the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust. It now helps support a local population of bald eagles, herons, and hawks as well as serving as a stopover site for many migratory birds.
Coaches and Coxswains Meeting at 7:00am
Racing starts at 8:00am
